I was brought up and taught to value myself and others...to aim high and to stand up for what I believe in. These foundational values lead me to enlist in the US Marine Corps when I was only 16yrs old and then head to boot camp after graduating high school to serve our country and her people as a means of preserving our quality of life.
Today, I am just as passionate about preserving our quality of life as a licensed massage therapist as I was about being a Marine. Standing out in the desert with my rifle in my hands during the Persian Gulf War, I promised myself that I would leave a legacy that shows that I made a difference in the lives of those around me here at home as well as on the battlefield.
I am now improving the quality of life for my clients through the holistic benefits of therapeutic massage. The high pressures of our work environments along with the physical demands of our recreational and fitness activities take a high toll on our bodies. Many people have come to understand that getting regular massages is just as important as regular exercise. I am here to provide high quality, professional therapeutic massage services to meet that growing awareness.
I graduated from the Texas Center for Massage Therapy located in Richardson Texas just north of downtown Dallas. Their 815 hour program provides training that is far above the 500 hours required by the state of Texas to become a licensed massage therapist. As most therapists tend to do, I have developed my own personal style of massage that incorporates a blend of myofascial, deep tissue, trigger point and swedish. This allows me to provide my clients with a massage that is both therapeutic and relaxing.
I am currently a member in good standing with the AMTA. I joined the AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) while attending school and quickly became an active member of the Dallas chapter. Within a year of graduating school, I was nominated and elected Co-chairman of the Board of Directors for the Dallas chapter. The following year I was nominated and elected Treasurer for the AMTA Texas State Board of Directors. I served in both roles until August 2015 when I resigned in order to focus on a nonprofit organization I started that supports teenagers and young adults who have "aged out" of foster care.
Over the past several years, I have worked at Massage Heights, Massage Envy, Massage Green, the SMU Dedman Athletic Center, Exhale Spa, and the American Express Centurion Lounge at the DFW Airport. I currently operate my own private practice as well as working in conjunction with Moore Wellness & Chiropractic. Having a natural talent for massage along with the knowledge and skills I've developed, makes me a great choice for being your massage therapist.
